>> SANYO Xacti E1 Camera

The new waterproof SANYO Xacti E1 captures stunning digital video and beautiful 6MP photos...on land and underwater!
Waterproof digital camcorder
1) 6 Megapixel still photos
2) 5x Optical zoom
3) 2.5-Inch LCD display
4) Up to 1hr. 20min. digital video per 1GB memory card
Practically four cameras in one, the Xacti E1 allows you to shoot both photos and video at a park, birthday party or virtually anywhere else on dry land. And, when the opportunity presents itself, also shoot both photos and video while snorkeling or while just playing around in a swimming pool. This powerful little camcorder easily records both full 640x480 resolution video at 30 frames-per-second and high-resolution 6-megapixel digital still images, all of which are handily stored to a standard SD or SDHC flash memory card (sold separately).
Designed to IPX8 international standard for waterproof, the Xacti E1 is capable of recording full motion video five feet underwater for up to 60 minutes. Incorporating a water-tight design that can resist the pressure created when submersed at five feet, the Xacti E1 is capable of capturing dramatic photos and video footage underwater to share with the less adventurous family members and friends.
The Xacti E1 incorporates the highly advanced AVC/H.264 video compression which makes posting movies on the Iinternet or e-mailing them to friends and family easier by reducing the file size. In fact, the file size can be up to 25% smaller than that of typical MPEG-4 cameras. To accomplish the complexity of encoding AVC/H.264 in real-time on the E1, a dedicated Qpixel brand H.264 video compression IC was incorporated into the camera that was designed specifically for portable consumer devices to achieve high video quality while simultaneously reducing the system power consumption. The result is high-quality video recording up to a total of 10 hours of full motion video with an 8 GB SDHC memory card (TV-HQ mode). The Xacti E1 can also record up to a total of 5 hours of video with a 4 GB SDHC memory card, up to 2.5 hours with a standard 2GB SD card, and up to 1.25 hours with a standard SD card.
The Xacti E1 features a large 2.5-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The display flips out from the camera and rotates up to 285 degrees on an axis that allows you to take great video or still images from otherwise-difficult-to-view positions, proving to be which proves especially useful when shooting underwater or in small rooms.
Setting the E1 camcorder apart from other video cameras begins inside the E1 the E1 digital media camera where you can find an advanced 6.37-megapixel (total) CCD image sensor. The large sensor allows the E1 to capture high-resolution 6 megapixel still images in addition to recording high-quality digital videos with full-range stereo sound.
The E1 can record up to a total of 10 hours of full motion video or over 4000 6-Megapixel still images on a 8GB SDHC memory card, up to 5 hours of video with a 4 GB SDHC memory card, up to 2.5 hours with a 2GB standard SD card, and up to 1.25 hours with a 1GB standard SD card.
The Xacti E1’s MPEG-4 files can be directly imported into iTunes software and easily transferred to your video-capable iPod® allowing you to share a quick video the next time you are asked how the kids are doing!
Shooting video when the perfect photo opportunity presents itself? Ever need to capture still images when you’re already shooting video? The E1 enables simultaneous shooting of both 6-megapixel still images and 640 x 480-pixel video clips with a simple press of the shutter button during the shooting of a movie clip. You will never need to miss another precious photo opportunity. (Depending on the mode used to take still images, simultaneous video clip shooting may be interrupted. While shooting video clips, using the digital image stabilizer may change the angle of view for still images.)
The SANYO Xacti E1 comes with a sophisticated image stabilizer. Using a proprietary SANYO algorithm, the E1 automatically compensates for distracting up-and-down or side-to-side camera movement, keeping your subject steady and easy to follow. It accurately distinguishes between unintentional camera shake and deliberate camera movement. This handy feature operates in both wide-angle and telephoto modes, giving every shot a solid, professional-looking feel.
The E1 digital media camera features a highly efficient 5x optical zoom with a bright maximum aperture of f/3.5. Consisting of 9 groups and 12 total lenses, the E1’s lens provides a fantastic field-of-view with a 38-190 mm range (35 mm equivalent). Combined with the 12x digital zoom, the E1 provides up to 60x zooming capability.
One of the hallmarks of the Xacti camcorder line is the super-fast start-up. Reduce your chance of missing the moment. The Xacti E1 media camera is designed for super fast start-up and shooting. With the tapeless design, the E1 eliminates the need to queue up a tape deck allowing the E1 to begin shooting in as little as 1.7 seconds! When the E1 is powered on, closing the LCD display puts the E1 in standby mode. Simply open the display and the E1 automatically powers up and can begin immediately recording in as little as 1.7 seconds.
The Xacti E1 includes a high-capacity SANYO brand lithium-ion battery. The DBL-L20U is a High voltage 3.7V battery designed to work with the SANYO Xacti E1 camera. High energy density design minimizes the battery size and weight, making it perfect for use in small portable cameras. The DBL-L20 is designed to resist memory accumulation so it provides a full charge every time.
The Xacti E1 enables easy playback of recorded video directly on a TV screen. Connect the E1 to a VCR or DVD Recorder to back-up copies of recorded content. Still images and video clips on the Xacti E1 are played back continuously and in chronological order. The Xacti E1 offers convenient connection to a PC. With simple drag-and-drop operation, it's easy to save recorded video clips and still images onto a computer's hard disk for emailing, editing or archiving.
On or off, the E1 is a true work of art. Ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand, most video and still functions can be easily accessed with the thumb of the hand used to hold the camera. Available in Blue, White and Yellow, the E1’s design is likely to get as much attention as your videos.

- Sony Signs Exclusive Game Developers
The guys behind games such as Twisted Metal, God of War and Warhawk have formed their own studio and signed on with Sony.
Under the flag of their new studio “Eat, Sleep, Play,” two seasoned game developers have signed on with Sony to produce content exclusively for the PlayStation platforms. Although specifics on the contract weren’t announced, David Jaffe and Scott Campbell have committed to multiple years and multiple titles with Sony.
The duo have worked with Sony and each other in the past at SCEA’s Santa Monica Studios. Jaffe worked at the creative director there, where he co-created and served as game director for Twisted Metal and God of War. Campbell founded his own studio, Incognito Entertainment, which developed Warhawk for PlayStation 3. Their latest work together was on Calling All Cars, a downloadable title.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with David and Scott and supporting them in their new endeavor," said Shuhei Yoshida, senior vice president of product development at SCEA, in a statement. "Through hit after hit, they have established themselves as two of the most talented individuals this industry has ever seen, and I look forward to seeing what kind of further gaming innovation they can bring to the PlayStation brand through our new development deal."
So far, the first formally announced project for Eat, Sleep, Play is a new Twisted Metal title. Twisted Metal: Head On will dig up lost levels from the unreleased Twisted Metal Black Part II, plus documentary footage on the game. They plan to have it wrapped up in time for a winter release in North America.

- Mario Strikers Charged Kicks Off On Wii
Nintendo has launched Mario Strikers Charged for Wii, an action-packed soccer game featuring earthquakes, storms, online gaming, and...of course, Mario.
"Mario Strikers Charged incorporates unique Wii controls such as flicking the Wii Remote to tackle the ball from your opponent or using it to block shots on the goal," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior VP of marketing and corporate communications, in a release. "There's no better way to keep a game challenging and fun than to invite more people to join the action. With Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, we're creating a real community where players at any experience level can take part in the fun."
Mario Strikers Charged introduces nine new stadiums along with a plethora of new characters, each of whom have their own special abilities and power moves. Players can create their own teams by mixing and matching captains and sidekicks, and then master Striker Challenges (or the tournament-style Road to Striker Cup) to unlock new elements and cheats. Players can also challenge other gamers online, with participants ranged using a positive-structured points system which resets to zero every week…and let's not forget the game's special hazards: earthquakes, firestorms, shockwaves, and other "otherworldly" perils.
Mario Strikers Charged is rated E10+ for by the ESRB; it's available now for a suggested price of $49.99.

- In touch with the digital age
LONDON, England (CNN) -- It has been an indispensable fixture of computing for as long as most people can remember. But sentences beginning with the words "click on" and "click and drag" may not be part of future office parlance as the humble computer mouse comes under threat from new touch-screen technology which is being rolled out by the major players in the computer industry. It promises to be the biggest change to personal computing in a quarter of a century.
Although touch-screen has long permeated the more mundane aspects of modern life such as ticket machines and tills, and provided interactive novelties in the guise of museum guides and quiz machines, applying this technology to the PC is a far more complex task.
The mouse is a tough act to follow. First conceived by Dr Douglas Engelbart and aided by Bill English -- who would later design the first "ball mouse" -- at the Stanford Research Institute in 1965, the mouse was first used commercially by Xerox in their "Star Workstation" computer made in 1981.
Apple was granted a license to use the mouse on its "Lisa" model shortly after, but it was only when it was incorporated into the iconic Apple Mackintosh in 1984 that the mouse gradually took off commercially.
Spool forward 23 years and its difficult to imagine computer life without the mouse guiding the majority of computer functions, but that's exactly what's on offer in 2007 -- a landmark year in personal computing.
At the beginning of the year Hewlett-Packard (HP) launched a range of PCs with touch-sensitive screens. It marked a return to territory they had mined before, when HP were the first company to attempted to introduce touch-screens to the commercial market in 1983 with the HP150.
The modern version - the TouchSmart PC -- looks set to be far more popular and is designed with all the family in mind. It is a one-stop multimedia center, which it is hoped, will become the hub for a family's work and entertainment requirements.
Based around Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system the TouchSmart PC doesn't dispense with a mouse and keyboard totally -- these are readily available when required -- but rather it takes the emphasis off them as tools of necessity for all tasks. HP have incorporated a host of one touch entertainment options -- including a SmartCalendar and PhotoSmart Touch -- which makes managing a diary, movies, photos and music much easier.
In May this year at the Wall Street Journal's D: All Things Digital conference in California Microsoft chief executive, Steve Ballmer unveiled "Surface".
With a multi-touch display - no keyboard or mouse here -- housed in what looks in size and shape like a chic coffee table, the company hope that the table-style computer will change the face of computing at the office and in the home over the next decade.
Tom Gibbons Corporate Vice President of Microsoft's recently formed Productivity and Extended Consumer Experiences Group says "Surface computing is a completely intuitive and liberating way to interact with digital content. It blurs the lines between the physical and virtual world. By using your hands or placing other unique everyday objects on the surface you can interact with, share and collaborate like you've never done before."
On first inspection "Surface" recalls the classic table-top arcade stations often found in bars and clubs. Measuring 22 inches high, 21 inches deep and 42 inches wide, the computer boasts a 30-inch display which Microsoft claim is capable of "recognizing dozens and dozens of touches simultaneously, including fingers, hands, gestures and objects placed on the table, allowing users to share, explore and create experiences together." It is also able to interact with mobile phones, digital cameras and music players.
With a retail price of $5000-10,000 Microsoft have already confirmed orders from hotels, restaurants and casinos and they hope that as "Surface" becomes more popular the price will fall far enough for the consumer market.
The market in portable touch-screen devices has been dominated by news -- good and bad -- about Apple's new iPhone. Whilst Apple have added another sumptuous design to their immaculate portfolio, the iPhone has been the subject of personal security fears as researchers at Independent Security Evaluators (ISE) based in Baltimore, successfully hacked an iPhone remotely - although a straightforward software patch looks likely to solve this problem.
Touch-screen looks set to complement existing hardware, rather than banish them to the history books, enabling more collaboration and simplifying the process of accessing multi-media facilities on the PC.

- Home cells signal mobile change
Standing in the corner of the room; being exiled to the bottom of the garden; or teetering precariously on a chair.
People will go to extraordinary lengths to find that elusive one bar of signal that will allow them to make a mobile phone call.
But soon the days of despair that occur when you arrive home only to find your new handset does not get any coverage in your house may be over.
There is a new home technology on the block, known as femtocells, and if the hype is to be believed, it will end signal problems forever.
"People I talk to say 'I want one now'," said Stephen Mallinson, CEO of UK femtocell producer ip.access.
Technology trial
The paperback sized-boxes are essentially compact, personal, mobile phone base stations that plugs straight in to your internet connection.Make a phone call on your mobile and, instead of routing the call through the network of base stations and masts that cover most of the country, it sends the call over the internet using your broadband connection.
Until now, they have been the preserve of big business, but sometime in the next two years they could come bundled with your mobile phone contract. Femtocells route mobile calls over the internet
"We always had the vision that the technology would be cheap enough to be in the home," said Mr Mallinson.
The company has just launched a 3G femtocell, targeted directly at home users, which could also bring high-speed mobile broadband into the home.
It is one of several offerings from companies such as Airwalk or Ubiquisys, which recently rose to prominence when search giant Google invested in the firm.
At the same time, large networks operators such as Vodafone and Softel have announced they will trial the technology.
And according to research firm ABI, by 2012 there could be 70 million femtocells installed in homes around the world serving more than 150 million users.
But for the network operators at least, the technology goes beyond just mopping up those people who cannot make phone calls on their network.
"In a sense it's mobile taking on wi-fi," said Mike Roberts, principal analyst at research firm Informa Media and Telecoms.
Call hassle
Femtocells pack high speed 3G technology or High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) inside, which can have download speeds of up to 7Mbps, similar to many home broadband offerings.
"In developed markets, their [the network operators] business has matured and they're looking for any growth opportunities they can. Taking on fixed broadband is one of those and femtocells are a great weapon to do that," said Mr Roberts.
The customer is paying for the backhaul
Stephen Mallinson
Wi-fi change for mobiles
According to the Oxford Internet Survey, 67% of the UK's population are current internet users and 29% have wi-fi access.
Grabbing an increasing share of this market is attractive to mobile operators, said Mr Roberts, and one way of doing that would be to build HSDPA straight into laptops
"That way you can connect to your femtocell and you can use it everywhere else as well - that's compelling," he said.
But the rise of the femtocell also has other advantages to the mobile networks.
Over the last few years various technologies have converged that threaten to make a dent in mobile operator's profits.
For example, wireless connectivity on handsets along with VoIP allows people to cut the cost of calls by bypassing the mobile phone network.
Companies such as Skype, Jajah and Truphone have all got in on the action.
"VoiP over wi-fi is starting but it's still early days," said Mr Roberts. "It's a real hassle to use and it's nowhere near the quality, reliability or usability of cellular voice."
If mobile operators can get femtocells into the home quickly, then they can prevent the rise of VoIP over home wi-fi.
"It's kind of like the mobile operator empire striking back," said Mr Roberts.
Cheap networks
The cellular networks have so far remained relatively tight-lipped about how they plan to use the technology.
Vodafone have said they are "currently looking at the business case".
By routing calls over the net femtocells free up the main network
"Femtocells are being assessed at a Group level as there may be strategic benefits such as improved 3G indoor coverage and lower costs," the company said.
"Femtocells could also allow us to develop new propositions for customers which could help to stimulate 3G usage still further."
Encouraging customers to sign up for 3G services is key for companies that spent billions on licences to secure the spectrum.
But there may be another advantage to the networks.
"The customer is paying for the backhaul," explained Mr Mallinson.
In a sense, mobile customers would be subsidising the growth of the mobile network by using their own home broadband and crucially, only subsidising growth in those areas where it is needed.
And that might be the first of several difficult sells to customers, according to Mr Roberts.
"If I'm a consumer I will say: 'OK, this is using my broadband line what do I get in return?'," he said.
"And it could be that your mobile calls are free or at landline rates. I think they will definitely have to address that issue with free stuff."
Femtocells could be given away free or even bundled with wi-fi routers to make them more attractive.
Signal strength
But the technology may face an ever bigger challenge before it gains widespread acceptance: its image.
"It's a base station in your home effectively," said Mr Roberts.
"I think mobile operators would certainly not like me calling them that...which is why they came up with the new name: femtocell, said Mr Roberts.
There have been several well publicised campaigns against the building of large scale base stations in residential areas.
Although companies such as ip.access are keen to stress that the technology operates at a much lower power than a standard base station - and well within government guidelines - the association with their larger cousins may be enough to put some people off.
But even so, analysts see a bright future for femtocells.
"We can see them taking off," said Mr Roberts.
And when that happens, the days of people waving their phones in the air to find even a glimmer of signal could be over. At home at least, full signal should be the norm.

- Mac and iPhone sales boost Apple
iPhone went on sale on 29 June, the day before the quarter endedApple has made strong three-month profits, helped by Mac and iPhone sales, even though the phones were only available for two days of the quarter.
Apple sold 270,000 iPhones on the first two days of their US launch.
Net income was $818m (£398m) between April and June, up 73% from the same period of 2006.
Apple shares have risen 62% since the start of the year when chief executive Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone and predicted 10 million sales in 2008.
But the shares fell on Tuesday after AT&T, the exclusive US carrier, said it had activated 146,000 iPhones in the first two days after the 29 June launch.
Analysts had been expecting the number sold in the first weekend would be closer to 500,000.
Direct sales
Mr Jobs says he is confident of selling his millionth phone within the first three months.
Apple said it shipped 1.76 million Macintosh computers in the quarter, a rise of 33% from a year earlier, while shipments of iPods were 9.82 million, up 21% from the same period of 2006.
The results were also boosted by lower commodity prices and more sales being made in Apple stores, according to its chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer.
"We did benefit in the quarter from a favourable commodity environment and better mix of direct sales as well," he said.

- Free Anime Movies
The term "Anime" refers to Japanese animation movies, sometimes called as Japanimation. Japanese comics called Manga heavily influence Anime movies. They are made of bright colors and stylized images with variety of settings and storylines. They cater to a large and varied audience all over the world.
The term Japanimation preceded Anime but has now fallen to disuse. Earlier, in the1970’s and 1980’s the term was common. But in 1990’s, animation movies reached worldwide market, so Japanimation refers now only to domestic animation. In Europe, Japanese animation is also called as Manga after the Japanese comics.
Osamu Tezuka’s “Astro Boy” in 1963 was the first popular Anime series. In the 1970’s the Japanese animation industry split from its Western roots and started unique genres like Giant Robots. The 1980’s saw a boom in anime production and 1990’s and 2000’s saw the rising popularity of anime in the overseas market. In 2003, Spirited Away won the Oscar for best animated feature.
Anime covers a wide range of genres like science fiction, romance, live action, fantasy, erotica, adventure, and even social commentary. Most Animes come in three formats-films, television series and original video animation. Films are released in theatres and have the highest budgets and the best video quality. Popular Anime films include Akira and Spirited Away. A television series is syndicated and broadcast on T.V. and an original animated video is similar to a made for TV movie.
There’s is a controversy around fan subs that are Animes subtitled by fans and released for download through Bit Torrent and distributed for free. Also problematic are bootleg versions of Animes from Southeast Asia.
Free Anime movies are available at a few sites that allow free downloads of several types of movies or are exclusively dedicated to Anime movies. For example, a new site called Anime Monarchy is a one-stop site for free shows like Pokemon and movie downloads like Kiki’s Delivery Service, Anime games and Anime lyrics. Besides these, Anime Collections.com, 1StopMovies.com and TV Central have free Anime movie downloads.
Free Movies provides detailed information about free movies, free anime movies, free movie clips, and more. Free Movies is affiliated with Free Movie Downloads.

- Don't Lose Your Website
Protecting Your Domain, Your Kingdom
Think of your website as your kingdom. And the key to your web kingdom is your domain. You wouldn’t give the keys to your kingdom to anyone but many small business owners make that very mistake – here’s the scenario.
You start a business and need a website so you find a web developer. The web developer offers to take care of everything. He will register your domain, setup hosting, and build your website. To you this sounds great. Mainly because you have no idea how to register a domain name and are totally lost when it comes to which hosting company to pick. But this is a recipe for disaster.
If someone else registers your domain for you then they own the domain name. In most cases there is no malice intended but small web developers come and go. If your developer goes out of business and disappears then you have no control over your website. This happens all to often.
Worse yet, if your web developer setup the hosting account for your website then you can lose the code. That means you rebuild the website from scratch. But it can get worse. There are many stories about small companies losing total control of their websites that then become sites about unrelated and even unseemly topics.
Control Your Website
To be the master of your domain do these two things:
Register your domain name in your own account
Setup your own web hosting account
Registering Your Domain Name
Registering a domain name is not difficult. There are hundreds of approved registrars – companies approved to register domain names. You select a registrar, create an account and reserve your domain name. You pay an annual fee to own a domain. Each registrar sets the fees they charge, which range from about $8 to $20 a year.
Setup A Hosting Account
There are probably a million companies that offer web hosting. These companies have rooms full of computers (called servers) connected to the Internet. They rent you space on one of the servers where your website will live. The primary job of a hosting company is to keep the server up and running, keep it connected to the Internet, and protect it from hackers. Web hosting for a small business website typically costs from $10 to $30 a month.
Work with Your Developer
Selecting a web hosting company depends on your needs. There’s no reason you should not work with your developer to pick a hosting companies that meets their requirements. The important thing is that you setup the account.
Article Sources & Takeaways: There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of approved domain registrars where you can register your web domain. Setup an account and reserve your domain on your own - don't outsource this step.
If you have no idea which registrar to choose there are many experts that will recommend a domain registrar they have experience with.
It's critical that you own your domain name and you control your web hosting account. This is especially important for small business websites. Think of your business website as an asset. It can bring you new customers and will be considered important if you ever sell your company.

- Best Way To Send Anonymous Emails
There are moments when you need to send an anonymous e-mail for the simple fact that you don't want that particular person to reach your address or because you don't want people to know you have sent that e-mail.Another common situation is the one in which people use your e-mail address to do illegal things and, due to the fact that we are talking about your e-mail adress you can be arrested. This is way, sending anonymous e-mail is sometimes beneficial. There are of course, many ways to do this and the purpose of this article is to present some of them.
One method to send an e-mail anonymously would be the usage of a remailer server to hide id information or anything elated to yourself. These remailers can be used not only for hiding your identity , but also to surf the Internet without anyone knowing it is you. In this case, there is a certain type of utility which allows you to send anonymous e-mail. It is generally free but a delay of 20 seconds on the browser can appear unless there is paid the amount of $15(three months) for the entire package. Moreover, you should know that in this case, the person who receives the e-mail cannot respond. There are however some other utilities which let you create an anonymous e-mail as you can also receive mails.
There is an easier way to send these anonymous e-mails. It is free and the one thing about it is the fact that you do not need to create an account for being able to send the e-mail. This is wanted in most cases as creating an account can take a lot of time; moreover, in the case of sending an anonymous e-mail an account is not needed even if it is for free. We have always wanted to have as utility e free emailer where we could just type the message, introduce the address of the receiver and sign out. This is what a free emailer does. Besides the fact it is free, you can send the e-mail in no time and the free emailer will make sure it is anonymous.
In conclusion, it is my strong belief that any person can be smart enough to make the right election: it is like choosing between two almost identical options, a difference being that the first is not free and the last is more easy and rapid. What should you do?

If they like bears, you can find a free musical e-card with a dancing bear. If their favorite color is pink, you can select a pink background for the free musical e-card. Then you can insert a special message for the person you care about. Add their favorite tune, and you have the perfect greeting.
When you choose the music for free musical e-cards, make sure it is the right song. Usually, free musical e-card music is an electronic, acoustic rendition of the song, not an actual song clip. Listen to the different options to see which one you think the recipient will like best. The best free musical e-cards play songs that are meaningful to the recipient. Make sure your recipient has speakers on their computer, otherwise they won't fully be able to appreciate any free musical e-cards. After you choose the right music for your free musical e-card, take the time to preview it carefully.
The wonderful thing about free musical e-cards is that you can send them no matter what the occasion. Some free musical e-cards sites offer joke e-cards with music. You can use one of these just to cheer someone up. So don't wait for a holiday or special day to come along to express how you feel. It only takes a few minutes to set up a free musical e-card, but your recipient won't forget that you cared.

- Smart Tips to Advertising Online
When businessmen think about doing business online, the scariest and considerably the most dreadful part that they do not want to repeatedly go thru is working on the techniques and plans on how they can better advertise their site and their products to the net users, particularly on the Internet. Well, I have included some of the “net-friendly” tips on how you can better advertise your site and your services online without having to go thru the perennial difficulties of online advertising.
• Engage on advertising your site and products to some of the “short-lived” mode of advertising for free. These free sites are usually giving an allowable 10- day free online advertisements. This is a perfect way of advertising online as it is proven cost effective yet highly productive.
• Engage on press release making and have them submitted on free sites. Again, this is another cost effective mechanism of online advertising but does not compromise the quality of producing results. With submitting press releases you immediately receive feedback and views on your campaign material.
• Engage on paid submissions of your campaign material. If you want to see the results of your advertisement material, you may opt at submitting your material to paid sites. This mechanism will give you quicker way of search engine listing and indexing. With this, too, you will be able to embed photos and graphics on your material that greatly helps on generating more feedback and traffic.
• Engage on exchanging links with other websites. Just make sure that the site you are exchanging links with have a good reputation of providing information that are of good quality and are some what related to your own field of offering.

- How To Make Money Online 1
They are various ways to make money online but I am going to discuss briefly on the most lucrative one. I have tried many methods of making money online but the most lucrative one has been affiliate programs. In case you don’t know what affiliate programs are all about, it’s a way of promoting other people’s products or services in return for some percentage of their profits when you make a sale, though some affiliate programs pay per click. Most online stores has affiliate programs for anyone to make money online though most are not lucrative, the reason is because they pay in pennies but the real affiliate programs pays $20 to $100 per sale which to me is lucrative. Some people fail with affiliate programs, to me the reason is because they are not doing the right marketing method, once you apply the right methods you will be able to hit it on your first careful try, i have compiled what till today is earning me thousands monthly for you to learn and start earning money today.
Affiliate programs pay their affiliates $0.20 to $100 depending on the program you are promoting, the biggest share I have ever seen is $100, which is from a rolex store. What makes affiliate program a lucrative way to make money online is that if the product you are promoting pays $40 per sale and you are able to make 10 sales in a day the total is $400 and to crown it all is free to start as an affiliate, some people make as much as $1000 per day or even more, as for me I make like thousands per day and they are all from the same program though different products. Affiliate program can be done by just anyone, once you are able to get a computer with an internet connection you can get started as a promoter, most affiliate programs pays through check, paypal and some egold. They have a minimum payout plan as low as $20 and pay in 2 weeks, once you reach it you receive your check without any waiting.
The reason why people fail with affiliate programs can be because they are not promoting the right product, inability to apply the right marketing methods. When I mean the right products, I mean that some people are not promoting the product which people love to buy, take for instance if you are promoting a product that gives the buyer an opportunity to make money online or a product that helps people for instance anti virus, dog training products etc, they are likely to convert 1 to 20 to every visitor that visits your website. I have found computer related products the most lucrative way to make money online, they are mostly what people buy online and if you are able to apply the right marketing plan to market them you will make a comfortable income online. Some people when they want to promote affiliate programs they chose products that pays $10 per sale, I call this google slap, and to me the highest I can take is $20 or more. Another thing is they promote products with a visit cookie, what i mean about this is that, some affiliates promote products that if the buyer visits first and goes away and return again they are not likely to get commission. They are some programs that’s uses 60 day cookies so that if the customer returns after 60 days you will still get your share of the sell, some also uses 365 days cookies, to you all the websites you visit do you always buy what you see there on your first day, I know you will say no. Another reason why affiliates fail is that they promote the wrong products, some publishers are fond of ripping affiliates their commission so you won't get the fruit of your labor, in case if you don't know this better know now, always check your hop link well to see that it appears on the vendors page and finally payment page if it doesn't, quit promoting that product, though this rarely happens but sometimes you never know who's next. Finally always check your hop link well if you notice your sale is decreasing to see if its working well, sometimes this may be the sole reason why you sale is coming in. This is where clickbank, plimus etc comes in as the top place to find products to promote, they have various products and tools to make sure you rip the right of your labor. I know you must be wondering how you can start with clickbank as a beginner to make money.
I recommend Ultimate Wealth Package to you, they thought me all I need to make money online when i was desperately searching and finally today I am making thousands monthly.

- Download Firefox - FREE
click >>
Download Firefox 2.0.0.5 for Windows - Free
The award-winning Web browser is now faster, more secure, and fully customizable to your online life. With Firefox 2, we’ve added powerful new features that make your online experience even better.
Features:
Improved Tabbed Browsing
We love tabs as much as you do, so Firefox 2 will open new web pages in tabs by default. Each of those tabs has its own close button, but don’t worry - if you accidentally close a tab, just go to the History menu to bring it back from the list of “Recently Closed Tabs.” You’ll never be crunched for space anymore, either. When you have too many tabs open to comfortably fit in a single window, scroll arrows will appear on either side, and a button on the right side will always show you an easy-to-read list of all your open tabs.
Spell Checking
Sometimes you’re in a rush, and can’t remember if it’s “i” before “e” or the other way around. Firefox 2 has built-in spell checking to keep you from making any mistakes in your blog posts and Web-based email, so you can worry about more important things.
Search Suggestions
Some of the search engines in Firefox 2 can read your mind, and actually suggest search terms for what you’re looking for. Just start typing into the Search bar, and a drop down list of suggestions will appear. (Works for Google, Yahoo! and Answers.com.)
Session Restore
Losing your place while you’re doing things on the Web is a pain. Now, with Session Restore, if Firefox has to restart or closes when it comes back you’ll pick up exactly where you left off. The windows and tabs you were using, the text you typed into forms, and the in-progress downloads you had running will all be restored. You can even set Firefox 2 to always restore your previous session instead of loading a home page, so you’ll never lose your place again.
Web Feeds (RSS)
What do news headlines, indie rock podcasts, and pictures of kittens have in common? They’re all things that you can subscribe to with Web feeds. Firefox 2 gives you full control over Web feeds, showing you a preview and letting you choose how you want to subscribe. You can use a Firefox Live Bookmark, or a feed reader that you’ve installed on your computer, or through a Web service such as My Yahoo!, Bloglines or Google Reader.
Live Titles
Keep an eye on that auction or the status of a delivery using the new Live Titles feature in Firefox 2. Compact enough to fit as a bookmark label, Live Titles are regularly updated summaries of the most important information on a Web page. As the information on the page gets updated, so does your Live Title. Try one out in Firefox 2 by bookmarking http://www.woot.com/.
Integrated Search
Firefox helps you find whatever it is that you’re looking for. The Search bar comes pre-loaded with search engines for Google, Yahoo!, Amazon, eBay, Answers.com, and Creative Commons. Wherever you are on the Web, you can enter a search term in the Search bar and receive immediate answers from the search engine you’ve chosen. You can select a new search engine from the Search bar menu at any time, and add search engines from hundreds of your favorite Web sites.
Firefox Live Bookmarks let you view Web feeds such as news and blog headlines in the bookmarks toolbar or menu. With one glance, quickly review the latest headlines from your favorite sites and click to go directly to the articles that interest you.
Pop-up Blocker
Firefox keeps you in control of the Web pages you’re viewing, blocking annoying pop-ups. Firefox’s pop-up blocker notifies you when pop-ups are blocked via the information bar or icon on the lower right of the screen.
Streamlined Interface
The user interface in Firefox 2 has been updated to improve usability without altering the familiarity of the browsing experience.
Accessibility
Firefox delivers a better browsing experience for everyone - including those who are visually impaired. Firefox includes support for DHTML accessibility. Web developers can create pages that reduce the amount of tabbing required to navigate a document to minimize keystrokes for those with mobility disabilities. Firefox also includes support for Microsoft Active Accessibility, Microsoft’s accessibility API standard for Windows. This support allows Firefox to work with screen readers such as GW Micro’s Window-Eyes and Freedom Scientific’s JAWS. Firefox 2 (Windows version) meets US federal government requirements that software be easily accessible to users with physical impairments.

- iPhone Battery Lawsuit: What Did Steve Jobs Say, and When Did He Say It?
Leaving aside the lawyer jokes (we've heard 'em all), there seems to be some confusion about the facts of the case, which centers on whether or not Apple informed purchasers ahead of time that the iPhone's battery was sealed and would need to be professionally replaced after a fixed number of charges -- leaving the owner without a cell phone in the interim.
The lawsuit claims that this information did not appear in the product's packaging and never came up in Apple's promotion or marketing of the device. A group called the Foundation for Consumer and Taxpayer Rights made a similar complaint about a week after the iPhone went on sale.
At the risk of being called as a witness in the trial, this is what I've learned about what Steve Jobs and Apple said about the battery issue and when they said it:
At the MacWorld keynote at which he introduced the iPhone, Jobs gave specs on battery life but did not volunteer the information that it wasn't user replaceable. Neither does Apple's Jan. 9 iPhone press release.
In subsequent press coverage, the news eventually leaked out, perhaps most memorably in John Dvorak's famous iPhone podcast, in which he quotes an unnamed Cingular (AT&T) executive complaining about the "amateur mistake" Apple made in not having a removable battery.
But the issue here is what Apple said or didn't say, not what the press surmised.
On June 18, Apple issued another press release:
CUPERTINO, California—June 18, 2007—Apple® today announced that iPhone™ will deliver significantly longer battery life when it ships on June 29 than was originally estimated when iPhone was unveiled in January. iPhone will feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback.*
Nothing about battery replacement.
On June 29, the iPhone was released and sold like hot cakes.
On July 2, Glenn Fleishmann on TidBits posted an item complaining that Apple had not yet provided details about the cost of replacing the battery (see My First Days with the iPhone). A week later, he posted a corrective:
...in fact, those were apparently available for at least a day on the Apple Store's ordering page for the iPhone (click the Warranty button in the bottom right). Other repair information appears to have shown up on or around 02-Jul-07.
Among the information Fleishmann says showed up "on or around July 2" is Apple's "iPhone Service FAQ." That file contains this paragraph:
My iPhone warranty has expired. What are my service options?
Apple offers two service options for iPhones that are no longer within warranty. If your iPhone requires service only because the battery’s ability to hold an electrical charge has diminished, Apple will replace your battery for a service fee of $79, plus $6.95 shipping and handling. The FAQ also describes Apple's $29 Apple Care Service Phone program, which provides a loaner cell phone for use during the three business days yours is off being repaired.
Trujillo's legal paper quotes Apple spokesperson Jennifer Hakes as confirming that "Apple posted the battery replacement program details on its website after the iPhone went on sale."
On July 23 Apple posted its iPhone Battery page, describing the proper care and feeding of an iPhone battery. It contains this key paragraph:
Charge Cycles
A properly maintained iPhone battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 400 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs.
That "replace" link takes you to a page that tells you what it will cost for the service.
Does any of this justify a class action lawsuit or entitle Mr. Trujillo, his lawyers and the class of iPhone purchasers to damages? You be the judge.

- Game worlds show their human side
World of Warcraft and Second Life are proving a boon to social scientists who are using them as virtual laboratories.
Researchers are getting insights into real life by studying what people do in virtual worlds, reveals a review in the journal Science.
It suggests virtual worlds could help scientists studying ideas of government and even concepts of self.
Others are looking at behaviours peculiar to online worlds and how they differ from real life.
Mirror worlds
Online worlds offer great potential to social scientists because they overcome some of the problems these researchers encounter when gathering subjects in the real world, Dr William Bainbridge, head of Human-Centred Computing at the US National Science Foundation, wrote in the journal.
For instance, he wrote, social scientists often face problems finding subjects fast enough or securing funds to carry out the research.
The popularity of online worlds such as Second Life and World of Warcraft meant there was a ready pool of subjects that could be recruited over long periods of time for little cost, he said.
The game worlds also gather huge amounts of data about what players do that could easily be analysed by social scientists, wrote Dr Bainbridge.
The validity of this approach was shown by the fact that early work in online worlds revealed that players exhibit many of the behaviours and social conventions they adhere to in real life.
Many game commentators have noticed that characters and avatars in game worlds keep about the same distance apart as people stand in the real world, suggesting that players act the same way in both.
The differences between online worlds such as Second Life and World of Warcraft were also revealing, said Dr Bainbridge.
In Second Life, participants often only create one alter-ego or avatar and identify closely with it. By contrast most Warcraft players maintain several "alts" and regard them as possessions.
Both could throw light on how people create identities and how they seek to project themselves to others, wrote Dr Bainbridge.
Second Life was proving most popular with social scientists as it let them build their own objects to test the reactions and responses of gamers, he wrote.
The games could let scientists carry out large-scale studies of alternative governmental regimes that would be "next to impossible in society at large," he wrote.
For instance, Dr Bainbridge wrote, the ongoing conflict in World of Warcraft between players of different factions for valuable minerals could be seen as a field experiment in "how individuals can be induced to cooperate in producing public goods".

- Miscrosoft's state education revolution
The state run high school system in America is often viewed as under-funded and over-crowded, especially in large urban cities such as Philadelphia.
So when Microsoft announced its intention to join up with the city school district and bring all its resources and software know-how there was a mixture of shock and surprise from across the community
But one year on all seems to be going well.
West Philadelphia is a place of high crime rates and low incomes, the last place you would expect to find a new bright white gleaming school building packed with technology.
There are digital writing boards, built-in audio systems, auditoriums that swivel into place and lots more.
Controversial combination
"In the gym there are cameras with which we are able to capture kids' games. So the next day the kids can deconstruct the game by watching it and better their skills," said High School principal Shirley Grover.
"We can also capture their best shot or pass, which helps us build portfolios for universities."
There is hardly a book in sight.
Every student is issued a laptop and not much else to complete their studies. Homework projects are e-mailed to all the students, and their parents.
Every digital mark made on the board is downloadable to the family home.
What makes this possible is a partnership with Microsoft - a rare and potentially controversial combination of public tax payer money and private enterprise.
Microsoft's Mary Cullinane said: "The reality is we have a very vested interest in our education system. We will be the organisation that hires these kids, we are the organisations that economies are built around. So these kids need to be successful.
"But we're not educators. So we need to work out what is the appropriate contribution and how can we support their endeavours. That's what this place is trying to do."
Life-changing opportunity
Parents are not put off by corporate involvement.
More than 9,000 applications came in this year alone for 175 places.
Academically gifted pupils were not given priority. For many youngsters getting in is like winning a Willy Wonka golden ticket.
Jessica Nichols, like most of the students, had never even touched a laptop, let alone owned one before she won a place. And she is well aware that this opportunity could change her life forever.
"It's not just another school. It's THE school, and it's all about new beginnings," she said.
"When you live in a neighbourhood like this, when you're dealing with the schools that you're coming from, with little money and text books from 25 years ago with pages missing, you realise what you really want and need for your future to go on and be successful.
"This is a school that said it would help you, and it really does."
When students turn up first thing in the morning they use their ID cards to get into the school - the time is recorded of course. And they need it to access their locker. It is even used in the cashless school cafeteria.
In other schools the bullies' favourite target is lunch money.
The cards also keep track of the foods eaten and calories consumed. But being in a technologically advanced environment, with wi-fi available everywhere for example, does raise some concerns.
Global plans
Websites like YouTube and MySpace have been blocked.
"A lot of the kids do get distracted. I know that I would have been horribly distracted at 14 or 15 if I'd been given the same opportunity," said John Disston, a teacher at the school.
"But with this generation their brains seem to be structured much more readily to multi-task."
There are other issues that are constantly debated around the school and amongst parents - does a Microsoft culture, which includes hiring practices, lead to a more efficient school system?
Is it a good idea to rely on the internet to supply information to parents at home, some of whom cannot even afford telephones?
But with student attendance rates now at 93% compared with 60% for the school district as a whole, there is overwhelming support for the school from almost every direction.
"We wouldn't enter into a programme where we would get five years down the road and said 'hey, we made a mistake'," Gregory Thornton, Chief Academic Officer of the School District of Philadelphia, said.
"We're watching this very closely, looking at key performance indicators, and making mid-course corrections as we go along to ensure student success.
"Every indicator that we look at today, from teacher attendance to student attendance, to formative assessments indicates that we are on the right track of changing the lives of young people in the City of Philadelphia."
The educational experiment is being examined closely by other American school districts, many of which are failing badly.
And since the project began the world has also been watching. The School of the Future receives visitors from around the globe frequently and Microsoft recently announced plans to take the concept worldwide.

- Naked photo shoot to draw attention to glacial shrinkage
ZURICH, Switzerland (AP) -- Wanted: volunteers willing to take their clothes off and have their picture taken on a freezing cold Alpine glacier.
The appeal by New York artist Spencer Tunick, famous for taking pictures of thousands of naked people in public settings worldwide, is intended for a photo shoot to highlight the effects of climate change on Switzerland's shrinking glaciers, environmental group Greenpeace said on its Web site Wednesday.
Greenpeace said if global warming continues at its current pace, most Swiss glaciers will disappear by 2080.
The photo shoot, which follows Tunick's previous shoots in London, Mexico City and Amsterdam, will take place in August at an undisclosed location in Switzerland.
Prospective candidates from further afield will have to start making travel arrangements now. "We aim to make this a climate friendly event, so please come by public transport and don't fly," Greenpeace said.

- Benefits of VoIP
You may not have considered it but there are many benefits that businesses can achieve by utilising data networks to carry their voice traffic (VoIP). By marrying this voice traffic with data traffic (IP Telephony) it becomes even more powerful.
Here are a few examples;
Cheaper Phone Calls - as your utilising existing data networks
Simpler Infrastructure - one set of CAT5 cables
Scalable - simply extend the existing data network
Reduced Operating Costs - converged system is simpler to manage
Enhanced Customer Service - "Click to Talk" web services and easy role out application like call centres
Flexibility - Remote or home workers can work as if in the office
It's fair to say that most people focus on the costs savings but in most cases the business improvements far out way the costs savings.
For example if your business operated from multiple sites it would be possible to have a single centralised system located at one site, with optimal staffing resources to operate, manage and support. No need to have 3 receptionists when one will do!
Say you had staff that wanted to work from home or from a remote office. With this technology it would be easy to give them the look and feel of being in the office and the transparency that their co-workers and customers enjoy.
Rolling out a distributed business application such as a contact centre or call centre is much easier and more robust.
But....its not that simple to get right!
You must consider;
Quality of Service - across the data network
Reliability – Think when did your LAN / telephone system last fail?
Security - May increase exposure to data and voice
Support - Which department is now responsible - training?
With the latest handsets it is possible for them to act like a PC with their own IP address and with the right handsets they can even run XML applications cutting down the need for unnecessary PC's etc.
To get it right requires the right planning and foresight to make sure that your systems will grow and deliver the maximum benefit with the minimum risk.
